How does it work?
It couldn't be simpler. Using Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari (or any other browser), simply type the Login URL you have been given, e.g. ftp://ftpstore.co.uk and you will be presented with a Login box similar to one of the ones below:
Just enter the Login details you have been supplied with and your access to your FTPstore account is complete! You will be presented with an empty folder. With this you can:
- create, edit and delete folders
- drag and drop files from any Operating system directly into your FTPstore file store!
- set up automated tasks that run in the background whilst you sleep to backup your data using, for example, free or very inexpensive backup software such as Syncback (available in both free and commercial versions).
- retrieve your FTPstored documents anywhere, anytime!
- run backed up files, such as your bookmarks/favourites, directly from your FTPstore without downloading!
What happens if I run out of space?
You will know when you have exceeded your allocated space limit because the system will tell you. You will then have one of two choices:
- Delete some files to free up space (just as you would on your own computer)
- Upgrade to a larger FTPstore account at any time you like and you will only be charged the difference, pro rata.
Can I use any other software to manage my files?
You certainly can. There are dozens of dedicated FTP clients around that will allow you to manage and synchronise your FTPstore account with precision. The best of these, in our opinion, is Filezilla, a free and fully-featured FTP client that is available for Mac, PC and Linux. But, and this is important, you don't need to use one if you don't want to!
For speed and easy of use, the method illustrated above simply cannot be beaten. All you need to remember are your username and password! So, if you have no further questions...
